1.  link:  Science (NASA) Throws More Cold Water on Man-Made Global Warming FantasiesOnce more we learn that the “science” of anthropogenic global warming is really just more of the guesswork that so often passes itself off as “science” these days. A new study by Dr. Roy Spencer, a leading scientist with the Earth System Science Center at The University of Alabama in Huntsville, found that much more heat is being bled off into space by our atmosphere than was previously thought, and that this bleed-off begins much earlier in the warming process than thought. The report indicates a big difference between what the climate models predict and what the satellite data shows.

1a. link: The Hot Air Effect: Global warming alarmists have spent the past two decades convincing the world that carbon dioxide, particularly man produced carbon dioxide, is plunging the world into a cataclysmic heat wave that will melt the polar ice caps, flood coastal areas and generally change life on planet earth as we know it.

Every year, “scientists” whose financial grants seem to be dependent upon a contest of who can come up with the most outlandish claims emerge with more dire predictions.  You have the scientists who purportedly observed four polar bears floating dead, and two years later developed a theory that global warming was a threat to the polar bear population. His work led to polar bears being placed on the threatened list due to their survival being threatened by global warming.

Of course, the latest survey of the polar bear population shows that it is risen as much as 500 percent since the 1970s from an estimate of 5,000 total bears to 25,000 in 2010. A truth that was too inconvenient to be included in Al Gore’s Academy Award winning documentary which mentions the polar bear issue.  Climate scientists have warned that the polar ice caps were disappearing (which is the basis for the polar bear worry.)

Yet, a must-read article in the New American states, “This must mean the Arctic is heating up, right? On the contrary, DMI admits little difference in Arctic temperatures between 1958 and 2009, and data from NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) indicates a cooling trend in the Arctic since the 1940s. Indeed, some climate scientists — even those who support the idea of anthropogenic (human-caused) global warming (AGW) — are predicting Earth will experience a period of cooling for the next two or three decades.”

But, even with all of the challenges facing the global warming movement based upon the actual temperature data over the past decade, and various scientific scandals that seem to be engulfing their credibility, nothing surpasses what climate scientists at the University of Alabama at Huntsville announced in late July.  The entire basis of the man-made global warming claim is predicated upon the presumption that carbon dioxide gas stops energy from being dispersed into space increasing the temperature of the earth, hence the term “greenhouse gases”.

1b. link: Yet Another Global Warming Keystone Crumbles: Arctic Ice ‘Tipping Point’ Disproven: New evidence now undermines one of the linchpins of the Catastrophic Global Warming hypothesis — the feedback loop which is projected to cause global temperatures to spike upward in future decades once the Arctic ice sheet sheds enough square mileage; the loss of the ice’s reflectivity will (in theory) allow the absorption of more sunlight, which will cause more warming, which will melt more ice, and so on, until the polar ice caps are gone completely.

But a new study by Danish researchers and reported by the BBC now throws that basic assumption into question:

1c. link: Climategate: the final nail in the coffin of 'Anthropogenic Global Warming'?   If you own any shares in alternative energy companies I should start dumping them NOW. The conspiracy behind the Anthropogenic Global Warming myth (aka AGW; aka ManBearPig) has been suddenly, brutally and quite deliciously exposed after a hacker broke into the computers at the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit (aka  CRU) and released 61 megabytes of confidential files onto the internet. (Hat tip: Watts Up With That)

1d. link: World will 'cool for the next decade:   YOU HAVE TO READ THIS;  RIGHT FROM THE HORSE MOUTH, MOBIB LATIF, WORLD'S LEADING MODELLER!!!

FORECASTS of climate change are about to go seriously out of kilter. We could be about to enter one or even two decades of cooler temperatures, according to one of the world's top climate modellers."People will say this is global warming disappearing," Mojib Latif told more than 1500 climate scientists gathered at the UN's World Climate Conference in Geneva, Switzerland, last week. "I am not one of the sceptics. However, we have to ask the nasty questions ourselves or other people will do it."

Few climate scientists go as far as Latif, an author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and a climate physicist at the Leibniz Institute of Marine Sciences at the University of Kiel, Germany. Yet many now agree that the short-term prognosis for climate change is less certain than once thought. This is bad timing. The UN's World Meteorological Organization had called the conference in order to draft a global plan on how to produce useful short-term climate predictions for different groups of people worldwide, from farmers worried about the next rainy season to doctors trying to predict malaria epidemics. But while discussing how this might be done, some of the climate scientists admitted that, on such timescales, natural variability is at least as important as the long-term changes from global warming. "In many ways we know more about what will happen in the 2050s than next year," said Vicky Pope at the UK's Met Office.

Latif predicts that in the next few years a natural cooling trend will dominate the warming caused by humans. The cooling would be down to cyclical changes in the atmosphere and ocean currents in the North Atlantic, known as the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) and the Atlantic Meridional Oscillation (AMO).

Breaking with climate-change orthodoxy, Latif said the NAO was probably responsible for some of the strong warming seen around the globe in the past three decades. "But how much? The jury is still out," he told the conference. The NAO is now moving into a phase that will cool the planet.

Latif says the NAO also explained the recent recovery of the Sahel region of Africa from the droughts of the 1970s and 1980s. James Murphy, head of climate prediction at the Met Office, agrees and also links the AMO to Indian monsoons, Atlantic hurricanes and sea ice loss in the Arctic. "The oceans are key to decadal natural variability," he says.

Another favourite climate belief was overturned when Pope warned the conference that the dramatic Arctic ice loss in recent summers was partly a product of natural cycles rather than global warming. Preliminary reports suggest there has been much less melting this year than in 2007 or 2008.

1e. link: Further Proof from NASA that Global Warming is too Complex to be Modeled.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (July 26, 2011) — Data from NASA’s Terra satellite shows that when the climate warms, Earth’s atmosphere is apparently more efficient at releasing energy to space than models used to forecast climate change have been programmed to “believe.” The result is climate forecasts that are warming substantially faster than the atmosphere, says Dr. Roy Spencer, a principal research scientist in the Earth System Science Center at The University of Alabama in Huntsville.

As noted before, there are two debates here:

1: The scientific debate, which is fascinating and will take years to resolve because of the complexity of the question, and

2: The political debate, in  which politicians offer up simplistic and poorly thought out approaches, such as cap-and-trade, which is rejected by most economists.

There are many interesting comments from proponents of human caused climate change (AGW or anthropogenic global warming) and from sceptics which show an astonishing range of differing interpretations and understandings of the so called Greenhouse Effect none of which bear much relation to the actuality, writes Stephen Wilde. Currently some sceptics are pressing what I consider to be the unsustainable view that the Greenhouse Effect does not add thermal energy to the Earth system at all. Unless one can properly appreciate the nature and scale of the effect that an atmosphere has on planetary surface temperature the entire underlying debate is impossible to assess meaningfully.

This article will attempt to resolve that confusion.  Click on the link 1f. above

Editors note: the author refers to the two top journals: Nature and Science, both peer reviewed publications.  However, none of the article on global warming have been peer reviewed, nor the opinions of the editors.  They are reporting news and opinions about global warming.

The climate deniers are surrounded by the truth of climate change science and the only way to not see it is to cover their own eyes. They must intentionally refuse to see, hear or think. And in refusing to read and study and learn, these blind deniers must not only deny the science of climate change, they must deny science itself.Look at what you cannot read or understand if you want to be a climate change denier. Let us start with the two most important science journals on the planet, Science and Nature.

2. link: Study: volcanoes curbing warming.  Volcanic particles high in the atmosphere might have had a cooling effect over the past decade, perhaps easing global warming, a study by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration shows.

3. link: Global Warming: Not a Crisis.  We were made curious by the fact that every single environmental group in the U.S. says global warming is “real” and a “crisis,” even though there was in 1994, and still is today, considerable debate going on in the scientific community. Many of the world’s most distinguished scientists believe climate processes are too poorly understood to support calls for immediate action or predictions of catastrophic global warming (Solomon, 2008).

The burning of fossil fuels to generate energy produces carbon dioxide (CO2), a greenhouse gas which, everything else being equal, could lead to some warming of the global climate. Most scientists believe the Earth experienced a small rise in temperatures during the second half of the twentieth century, but they are unsure how large a role human activities may have played.

The important questions from a public policy perspective are: How much of the warming is natural? How sure are we that it will continue? Would continued warming be beneficial or harmful?

The answers, in brief, are: Probably two-thirds of the warming in the 1990s was due to natural causes; the warming trend already has stopped and forecasts of future warming are unreliable; and the benefits of a moderate warming are likely to outweigh the costs.

Global warming, in other words, is not a crisis.

Computer modeling is further evidence of human influence  [good theory, but nixed by NASA findings] By Art Jahnke

For years now, environmental scientists have puzzled over a peculiarity of global warming: From 1998 to 2008, while the production of warming greenhouse gases increased, the temperature of the earth’s surface didn’t budge. Now Robert Kaufmann, a College of Arts & Sciences professor and chair of the department of geography & environment, has found an explanation: sulfur particles, emitted mainly from coal-burning power plants in Asia, have reflected so much solar energy away from the earth that they mitigated the warming influence of the greenhouse gases.

5. link: Climate Forecasting Models Aren't Pretty, And They Aren't Smart

The IPCC fesses up that there models are not accurate for long term forecasting.  In that same report the IPCC further admits, “In climate research and modeling, we should realize that we are dealing with a coupled non-linear chaotic system, and therefore that the long-term prediction of future climate states is not possible.” Here, the IPCC openly acknowledges that its models should not be trusted. Still, the IPCC obviously needs to apply them to justify its budget and influence. Without contrived, frightening forecasts, they would soon be out of business.

As the author of two books and a movie on the topic, his passion for the topic of anthropogenic global warming was never in doubt.  However the fervor in which Gore describes the issue was a bit shocking as he repeatedly called counter arguments “Bullshit!”

To be specific, the dangerous anthropogenic global warming hypothesis is that increasing carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere from about 270 parts per million by volume to about 540 parts per million by volume (that is, from about 27 thousandths of a percent to 54 thousandths of a percent) would cause catastrophic heating that could jeopardize human civilization as we know it, or even perhaps all life.

11. link: Do Most Scientists Agree on Global Warming:

"Well, there’s definitely climate change. The more interesting question is how much is a result of natural causes and how much, if any, is attributable to human behavior. And that’s what the scientific dispute is about," said Brophy. "It’s something we have to look to the science on. The weight of the evidence is that most of it, maybe all of it, is because of natural causes... There’s lots of layers to it. But at least as to any potential man-made contribution to it, it’s fair to say the science is in dispute."
