OCCUPY WALL STREET FOUNDER MAKE BIG MONEY
Wall Street money for Warren
I thought Elizabeth Warren was all about transparency. We are all still waiting for her to file the required financial disclosure form.
The Oklahoma Professor has been criticizing Scott Brown for being “Wall Street’s favorite Senator.” She has also denounced “Wall Street cash in politics.”
But it turns out she may be indirectly accepting Wall Street money. The Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee, which is helping the Harvard Professor, has taken over $40 million from Wall Street during the last 7 years according to records from OpenSecrets.org. In fact, Wall Street is the biggest contributors to them. They beat lawyers and labor union. Just during this election season the DSCC has already received $1.5 million from Wall Street.
If Lizzy Warden is truly opposed to Wall Street money, then shouldn’t she reject the DSCC’s money? Otherwise she is just using the DSCC to funnel in Wall Street money

Good job Holly you worked in “Harvard” and “Oklahoma” but you left out “liberal” and “Occupy”. Maybe she needs the money to offset the republican Super PAC attacks? I know Sen. Brown is worried and he should be as he runs further to the left every day.

Of course not. She can accept all of the DSCC money, that’s not coming from Wall Street.

Money is the abused substance of politics, and it’s baffling how many people follow the money first; dictated by the sums and indifferent to the message, philosophy or integrity of the candidate.
Comment by Dave O'Connor - January 6, 2012 @ 12:51 pm
Frankly, money is about all Lizzy can bring to the race. -
It doesn’t matter if the author shows both sides, because conservative Republicans aren’t taking a stand against wall street while simultaneously profiting from it… hypocrisy has riddled the occupy movement from day one.
Comment by matt - January 6, 2012 @ 2:52 pm -
this is the height of hypocrisy. if she really beleives that wall street earnings are ill-gotten (that’s all she seems to talk about), then she should not accept wall street money. it is like a politician running for office on a law and order platform and accepting money from criminal enterprises so that they can be elected and fight crime. give me a break. more of the same, progressive, elitist bull…. do as I say, not as I do.

Lizzie makes over #300,000 a year. Lizzie is part of the 1%, BUT it’s ok because she’s TALKS about being against Wall Street. They’re the designated bad guys and if there’s one thing Lizzie can do, it’s talk a good game.
They ALL take Wall Street money on the side, but it’s considered poor form for us 99%ers to talk about this money when it’s received by CERTAIN people (our credentialed “betters”). Of course, Lizzie takes money from other 1%ers too - like Hollywood, trial lawyers, Big Labor, BUT that’s ok, because the fact is, people like Lizzie are fine with 1%ers, but only CERTAIN, acceptable ones - like Lizzie.
Lizzie needs to have the power to go along with the upper class lifestyle. So we should vote for her. LOL

I didn’t say she was an Occupy founder - all that was ginned up by the astroturf group, AdBusters. Read, dear boy, it does wonders. Here’s what I meant about our Miss Lizzie: “In a new interview, Democratic Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren claims much of the credit for the Occupy Wall Street protests sweeping the nation.
“I created much of the intellectual foundation for what they do,” the Harvard Law School professor and former Obama administration consumer advocate told Samuel P. Jacobs of The Daily Beast. “I support what they do.””I wonder what part of OWS Lizzie supports, Matt? The rapes? The assaults? The deaths? Or maybe just the crapping on a cop car LOL.
BTW, Matt, laughably irrelevant applies most appropriately to OWS. And Miss Lizzie.
An overweening sense of superiority combined with pure hate is a dangerously stupid combo, Matt - Love and kisses from a Drudge Neanderthal.

“I created much of the intellectual foundation for what they do,” she says. “I support what they do.”

Oooh, wait, I know what part of OWS our Miss Lizzie supports most of all - the millions of dollars spent by cash-strapped municipalities on these leeches. Money spent on stepped-up policing, clean up (you don’t expect libs like our Miss Lizzie to clean up after themselves, do you?), the cost of processing so many of the little scamps through the justice system, you get the idea. Cities also had to fix what the lil darlins broke.
Now our Miss Lizzie is continuing on with the OWS penchant for living off the public dime - she wants to be a Senator. So we all get to pay for her to continue living in the style to which she’s become accustomed (and feels entitled to). After all, she’s a member of the credentialed elite. LOL

Actually, Lizzy Warren should have enough money of her own. She earned over $500,000 in 2010 and the couple reported more than 4 M in assets in financial disclosure. Then there’s her husband’s Harvard income of $130,000. It is no surprise that as the Matriarch of Mayhem, she claimed to be the “intellectual foundation” of Occupy Wall Street. “What I meant to say was I have been protesting Wall Street for a long time.” sez Lizzy. Yeah. Right. Anybody else sensing hypocrisy here??? Then there is the $130,000 she is picking up for her appointment to Obama’s little scam the Consumer Financial Protection Agency. Not bad pay for an bureaucracy she created. Now with her buddy Richard Corday ordained by Obama in a phoney “recess” appointment, they can continue the “Business Harassment Agency” work. Taking Wall street Money? Sure!! Why not? Talking out of both sides of their mouths? Blatant hypocrisy? What else do you expect from any of these millionaire liberals? Because they want power but have no ideas, no solutions, they have absolutely nothing more than the politics of envy. And so many of you fall for it. Pity.

I’m glad we have the 1%ers because without them America would be like any other nation in the world, the 1% invested the money to build the railroads, the air planes and even bill gates would not have gone much past his garage had not some 1% invested in his idea.. but people like this woman are clueless. They believe the world wont spin without them Amercia wont work unless they fix it… We are seeing today their brilliance on the nation 8.5% unemployment, the workers either holding their breath not knowing if this month means a lay off, and now we have years of unemployment instead of weeks..they just want to smear, lie, and destroy their opponents by anymeans for the power. Who cares how much Scott Brown has taken, he is not opposed to Wall Street. This is just one more example of blatant hypocrisy. I could give you 100 examples on the left. Obama was supported by Wall Street more than any other president. Pelosi has had some very profitable years in Congress and was a big part of insider trading recently exposed and happily part of the 1% while she supposedly is down with Occupy. Reid, he has no problem being part of the 1% and talking about how Dems are all for the people. The occupiers better be careful going after the 1 percent. Turns out it only takes about $35K a year in U.S. income to be in the top 1 percent of world’s earners. Lizzy and the prez share a world view that believes the U.S. has too much. Once they equalize U.S. wealth, excluding themselves of course, they will complain that it unfair the 99 percent in the U.S. have too much. Lizzy, the prez and their friends will get richer and richer while complaining we are not paying enough to help out fellow man.. The “lady” didn’t start “the occupy” as you put it, whitey, however she did state:
“I created much of the intellectual foundation for what they do,” and “I support what they do.”
So she fervently supports the rapists, muggers, and all-around law breakers associated with this “movement”. But I’ll bet she supports the dude that pooped on the cop car most of all. That’s our Miss Lizzy! But you’re right about one thing - she’s just another gov’t hack. Unfortunately, she’s a leftist hack. The problem with them is that there’s no check on their actions by the press, which largely supports the left. And her kind of hack is very self-absorbed and self-righteous as they’ve deemed themselves “protectors” of “the people”. Which means they help themselves to more money than the right wing hacks, because they’re convinced that their heart is in the right place.
They’ll happily spend the gov’t into the ground, with nary a peep from the press.
Those nasty Republicans spend less, and the press is constantly up their behinds, so they can’t get away with as much. Scotty’s a spender (they all love to spend other people’s money), but he won’t spend nearly as much as our Miss Lizzy.
He’s the lesser of two evils, but I’m under no illusion that he really understands how to get the economy back on track any more than our Miss Lizzy. He’s the lesser of two evils is the best we can hope for here.

democrats had controlled congress for 40 solid years. What does this 40 years of democrat congressional power actually mean in the real world? democrats in congress had all of the powerful, committee chairmanships and leadership positions. democrats decided what regulatory legislation was passed and what bills were made laws. Industries, banking interest and Wall Street were, and still are, regulated by legislation created by powerful, congressional democrat committee chairs who still hire former democrats politicians, their family members and wives as tribute to powerful democrats in congress. democrats built and maintained a system of political corruption and fear among industries regulated by democrats in congress.

Let me make a prediction. Wall Street CEO’s will continue to make vast more political contributions to democrats than Republicans because democrats have been in congressional political power for so long that government regulations and government bureaucratic regulators, which are career democrat, progressive ideologues, are embedded throughout our central government. This is how democrats have become “embedded in all aspects of the system” as progressive bureaucrats. And, how democrats have designed a system of political corruption that past, present and future democrats tap into for donations, funds, pay2play payoffs, jobs for wives, husbands, children, drunk brothers and sisters. Then, democrats control all levels of education and media to deceive the public. This is why democrats want mother government at the center of everything that moves, breathes or bleeds. On the other hand, conservatives don’t want a statist government involved in everything.
Comment by Pilgrimswalk - January 7, 2012 @ 12:20 am -
How is she supposed to compete without donations from supporters from Wall Street and beyond? Any national candidate must take advantage of all channels of funding in order to compete. Isn’t competition the basis of the process? Isn’t the issue about campaign finance? Here’s hoping that what happened on TV in Iowa is teaching us how super pac money does (especially under the citizen’s united ruling) impact and influence the outcomes of our democratic electoral process.
Is it sensible or fair to support an idea that only the GOP candidates are worthy of wall Street Money? Doesn’t Wall Street hedge it’s investments always? Doesn’t Wall Street expect return on it’s investment for buying influence with any candidates? Is it possible that any candidate who accepts Wall Street money is equal in their complicity into a corrupt system, no matter their party affiliation?

Robert Reich wrote: “Mitt Romney is the candidate of big money.”
In the last weeks before the just-completed Iowa caucuses, Romney spent over $3 million relentlessly torpedoing Newt Gingrich with negative ads - Gingrich’s support by half and hurtling him from first place to fourth. But Romney kept his fingerprints off the torpedo. Technically the money didn’t even come from his campaign.
It came from a Super PAC called “Restore Our Future,” which can sop up unlimited amounts from a few hugely wealthy donors without even disclosing their names. That’s because “Restore Our Future” is officially independent of the Romney campaign - although its chief fundraiser comes out of Romney’s finance team, its key political strategist was political director of Romney’s 2008 presidential campaign, its treasurer is Romney’s former chief counsel, and its media whiz had been part of Romney’s media team.
“Restore Our Future” is to Mitt Romney’s campaign as the dark side of the moon is to the moon. And it reveals the grotesque result of the Supreme Court’s decision a year ago in Citizen United vs the Federal Election Commission, which reversed more than a century of efforts to curb the influence of big money on politics.

Why would anyone expect a democrat to truthful, ethical, or moral? They specialize in making fun of people who are.

Politics is completely set up as head they win. Tails we (Americans) lose. For either party to demagogue Wall Street is a bit Orwellian. Although, I am starting to see why Lewis Carol’s Alice in Wonderland was a popular portrayal of politics. The insanity coupled with the hypocrisy on both sides makes Wonderland look sane by comparison.
But why anyone could be for bigger government when they are 15 trillion in debt is beyond. You don’t feed a crackhead/spendiholic/government. You demand it sobers up. Then you give it just enough money so it can get on its feet.

If Elizabeth Warren wanted to really help her constituents, she would get some insider trading tips from the Martha Stewart of the west, Nancy Pelosi.

#44 Socrates Nixon: Unions and other lefty special interest groups like ACORN have always been able to contribute to political campaigns, and they have done so. With the Citizens United case, we now have a level playing field, so get over it. Occupy that thought.

Did Robert Reich talk about the Wall Street money candidate before Mitt Romney? Like Bill Clinton 2nd most Wall Street cash, and Barack Obama, 1st most Wall Street cash.
I am by no means defending Romney, he’s got a long ways to caught up with Clinton and Obama. Both in cash and blatant, ridiculously favors to Wall Street. Dodd Frank pretty much allows anyone with government protection to become a monopoly. And the Fed gets to watch over the banks now. It’s that great. The 5 biggest banks get to regulate the banking industry. Too big to fail just got bigger. Thanks government.

Ms. Warren keeps stating that she is going to “stand up to wall street”. In fact, her entire campaign thus far seems to be based on this. So, is she going to refuse any further support from George Soros, one of the biggest, wealthiest players on Wall street?
Off Topic: Has Ms. Warren put any kind of jobs creation plan on the table? Seriously, what are her ideas to stimulate the economy and job growth?
What will she do to convince employers to hire, instead of lay off, and to keep jobs here, and not move them overseas? At least Tom Conroy had a jobs plan. Maybe not perfect, no plan is. But at least he had one. All I hear from the Warren camp are bumper sticker slogans.

Wall St. plays by the regulation and policies, including those for political funding, created by the elected politicians and by the appointed bureaucrats. Government isn’t the solution, government is the problem. In the end, Wall St. is a willing accomplise in the perversion of our government by the politicians and bureaucrats.

Lez Warren is a devoted communist, and as such, is immune from any type of media scrutiny. Also, she continues to be a very close “advisor” to the Marxist-in-Chief. What does all this mean? it means the tree of liberty is looking quite dry. It’s time.

Republicans support business and they are very open and honest about it. Most intelligent people realize that successful businesses are good for America.
Democrats attack and demonize businesses and hide their greed behind lies and platitudes.
That’s bad for America.

“Elizabeth Warren is not a, let alone the, founder of the occupy movement.”
Leaving aside the incomplete sentence structure of the Lizzy apologist’s statement, here’s what our Miss Lizzy had to say about the OWS thugs:
“I created much of the intellectual foundation for what they do,” and “I support what they do.”
So she fervently supports the rapists, muggers, and all-around law-breakers associated with this “movement”. But I’ll bet she supports the dude that pooped on the cop car most of all. That’s our Miss Lizzy!Yes, let the left tell us about mean-spirited. As they mock Rick Santorum for having the audacity to mourn the death of his baby son.
You DO know what “mean-spirited” and “hateful” mean to the left, don’t you? That means someone said something a leftist disagrees with, but they have no answer to. Oh and RUPERT MURDOCH!!! *boo* LOL!! Whiney leftys - can dish it out, but sure can’t take it. Just like whiney Lizzy Warren.

You people are being played. Wall St gave their money to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. They knew when they gave the money that some senators would not be in their camp. Elizabeth Warren pushed for a badly needed consumer agency. Credit card companies were behaving like criminals, jacking up interest rates if you were late paying your water bill. Home mortgage companies were steering illiterate buyers to adjustable rate mortgages. This article is a pile of inflamatory junk. I am fairly sure that Warren taking money from the Democrat election funds will not alter her view of Wall St.

classic Republican nonsense. Here’s how it works…A republican eats meat, so, eating meat is ok. A Democrat eats meat, but since they don’t believe in “animal cruelty” they are ‘hypocrites.’ A Republican accepts all money, no matter from who, no matter how tainted. but Democrats are moral, so they can’t accept any money without being ‘hypocrites.’ A Republican has a bunch of racist friends, so if he says something racist, “that’s just who he is,” but if a Democrat thinks that blacks, as opposed to whites, deserve a hand up, he’s a “reverse-racist hypocrite.” Here’s the point: Republicans are meat-eating, corporate money taking racists: and they don’t have to apologize to anyone.
