David Machell is PROFESSOR EMERITUS OF JUSTICE AND LAW ADMINISTRATION, Western Connecticut State University; Active Faculty 1980-2010; EDUCATION BS, MS, MS, EdD; Counseling Psychologist, specialty addiction treatment MUSIC BIOGRAPHY The Hartt School, U Hartford, Flute (full scholarship, winner of the Clement Lenom Award), Orchestral Music, 1971-1974; Studied with Carl Bergner, Robert Johns, John Wummer. Prior to these studies, admitted to the Julliard School, Manhattan School of Music, Mannes School of Music, and the New England Conservatory. David was a member of the Jesuit Order and the Jesuits wanted all scholastics to study within the New England Province at this time. Bagpipes learned under the mentorship of Pipe Major James Farrell of Saint Patrick's Pipe Band of Glastonbury, CT. David was honored to share membership in this band with piper Joseph Brophy.
