Hello Everyone; .............Joe completed two religion courses:............................ [1] the first, JESUS, by Dr. Sarah Reeves at AIL in New London;..................................... [2] the second - a philosophy course on the EXISTENCE OF GOD by Dr. Larry Crocker, Dartmouth at ILEAD, Hanover. Joe is now enrolled in a third biblical course, the DEAD SEA SCROLLS taught by Dr. Art Rosen, an outstanding discussion leader:............................ [1]The Dead Sea Scrolls had a huge influence on ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION of the historical evidence about Jesus. Joe is looking forward to taking this new course exclusively about the DEAD SEA SCROLLS. In 2 sentences: We can say with some historical accuracy that Jesus prohibited divorce and the ‘taking of oaths,’ but not much more. Beyond that, it seems that much or most of Joe's beliefs and/or assumptions about who wrote the gospels are purely a matter of Faith.................................... [2]Crocker demonstrated with great finesse that philosophy is alive and well. Crocker, an atheistic son from a family of preachers has written a book, yet to be published: “Hope to God.” Not a bad idea. Whether we have Faith or not, it would seem that most normal people should Hope that God exists. The Saint Anselm Proslogium was a selling argument for Joe about the existence of God, the Prime Mover. It seems obvious to Joe now (as always) that there exists ‘ a God, the Prime Mover;’ but beyond that solid belief, everything else about God and Heaven and Hell and Soul and Spirit still remains a matter of Faith, Belief, Culture, Intuition, or Philosophical Discussion..........Having said all that, Joe does believe that the Universe is conscious, and that intelligence (or awareness) is part of the fundamental stuff of the universe. Some basic fundamental string elements attract each other. Why? That's a great question!!.................................................. Joe and Carole finished teaching two courses at ILEAD; beginners and Advanced SUDOKU; the latter focusing on Chains.

AIL Class on Sudoku
[work in progress.] The Sudoku Compendium by joe brophy is about 5000 pages, in pdf format, containing tens of thousand of puzzles, and answers, as well as step by step solutions. The compendium contains all the 'tricks' used by experienced players. Unfortunately, most of the tricks are the product of academic work and are inscrutable in most gaming situations.
After computer analysis of 70,000 puzzles using AutoIT programming language, Brophy finds they most puzzles can be solved by using three simple rules: (1) simple cross hatching using the "only choice" rule; (2) identification of 'naked pairs," and (3) simple True/False chains. These are illustrated in the Sudoku Compendium in 'step by step' solutions for many puzzles.
